Abraham Lincoln once said that, " People are just like happy as they make up their brains to be”. The main persona and narrator of the " Diary of any Superfluous Man”, Chulkaturin is a epitome of this quote. He ultimately dead feeling similar to the way he has felt about his existence all his life; bare, lonely, and most of all unhappy. From the very beginning of his diary, the narrator Chulkaturin has looked at himself within a negative light. He continuously categorizes him self as the man who wants and strives pertaining to happiness that he is frequently rejected of achieving.
Chulkaturin says, " Tomorrow may be the first of April. Can it be that I shall die tomorrow? In ways, that would be alternatively improper. That suits me nonetheless …. ” (Turgenev, 77). Apr is viewed as quick Spring. It is often stated about countless situations in many fictional works that Spring represents new origins, brightness, pleasure, etc . because flowers start to bloom, chickens start to sing as the sun rises, and the weather is a lot more delightful.
